Organ
- Sax Duet
(Shorter-Zawinul) 3:32 The
following account of this cut was told to Andy Forward by
William Eckle, who was at the show - "The lights
dimmed and we heard the faint strains of an organ, as an
organ console slowly raised from the orchestra pit, the
playing got louder, this was a real organ, PIPES, no
electronics here! As the console reached its maximum
(height), we could see the organist, it was Joe Zawinul.
After a few minutes of the organ recital, the band joined
in, the dark stage curtain opened, and Joe leapt on stage,
and took a seat behind his keyboards". |
