I remember I was 16 years old when I first heard Jaco, it was the song Birdland and all I could do is sit there on the couch with my mouth hanging open and thinking to myself that this man is the best bassist ever. I started playing bass at the age of 15 "I'm 44 now" and no one has had a greater impact on my music as Jaco has. He is my inspiration and my music idol. even though I have been playing for almost 30 years now, I will never be even close to Jaco's bass playing talent.

 

He has had a big impact on my life and career. I started playing fusion and funk and now I play Gospel and am the senior Deacon in my Church and play bass on the Praise and Worship team there. I always have and always will be a devout and follower of Jacos and I pray that I someday reach the full potential of my God given gift just as he did. My prayers to his family and friends.
