Okay- here's my Jaco story. I had been playing bass for about 6 years when I heard Weather Reports "Heavy Weather". I sold both my basses shortly after.  It seemed pointless to keep playing when I had already heard perfection.  Anyhow, I just HAD to see this guy live. Jaco was appearing with his PDB trio at Graffiti in Pittsburgh, PA., playing two gigs on the same night (May 24 was the date- I still have a flier from the show).  I went early and count it among the highlights of my life (narrowly edged out by the births of my 3 sons) to spend about an hour BS'ing with the greatest bass player EVER.  He got a kick out of it when I introduced myself and told him he made me sale my basses!  I attended the first show alone, and met some friends for the second show. Imagine their surprise when, after the show, Jaco comes over to the table, shakes my hand and asked me how I liked it!  Nearly 20 years later, and we still talk about that show.  Thanks for the music and memories...you are still sorely missed by family and friends alike.
